My Students

I teach in a self-contained, (autism) special education classroom in the northwest area of Las Vegas, Nevada. I teach eleven, energetic, inquisitive and amazing students. I provide support to these students in the academic areas of reading, writing, and math. My students are also working on learning skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills, language skills, and behavior skills. They love to learn and play every day. We are in need of some new math activities.

My students are very diverse and unique!

My Project

This project is for a complete set of durable Lakeshore Learning counters. My students will be able to measure, compare, sort and count with the six different sets of themed counters that are included in this set. My students need to learn these basic skills to prepare them for financial literacy and to expand their knowledge for more complex math concepts.

These hands-on activities will provide my students with new experiences to expand on their mathematical knowledge!

The counters will be used daily in centers, small group, whole group and for morning work as they explore their early math skills.
