it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember counting on your fingers and toes? After a while, you run out of them! My students need help mastering their math goals using other resources.
My students are extremely hard working and have a passion for learning!
They have achieved high growth in reading thanks to the number of resources obtained through Donors Choose and now they are looking to excel in math. They tackle each challenge in school despite the challenges they face every day at home. Our school is a high-poverty, Title I school where resources are not plentiful.
My Project
These resources will drastically change the way we do math workshop. With pre-made games, students will be able to master addition and subtraction facts, while having fun! They can test each other on their skills and teach each other the games as well. My students will be able to leave first grade with mastery of all math goals with these games, setting them up for success in send grade. We will be able to even work on second grade standards at the end of the year because of the fast paced learning that will take place because of these games.
These math games are important to my students because their future depends on it.
They will be so much more successful in first grade on their end of year math assessment because of the fun and engaging practice they will have from these games.
