This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Global Citizen Leadership Class is based on community partnerships and real-world solutions to problems. We are a class and club of action, hard work, and building positive relationships with others. Students are challenged to follow their dreams of a better world and are given the tools to see their leadership projects come to fruition.
Our school is located in a very low socioeconomic area, and our students are often in need of great amounts of community assistance just to survive.
My students intimately know all too well the challenges our community is facing due to the aftermath of COVID and inflation. My students are engaged, excited, and ready to roll up their sleeves and help rebuild our school community through service. They need some develop their social and emotional skills and overall world knowledge of issues because often they are relying on survival skills all the time.
My students want to be ambassadors, and community leaders, lead non-profits, and be a part of the change in our society. My students need a unified front when they work in the community in the form of leadership shirts, so they can be proud of the school they represent and the work they do. My students need to feel like a part of something bigger than themselves and to feel a sense of purpose. A t-shirt is a simple way to achieve this goal. Help us to be positive, proud of our school, and have a strong sense of community one shirt at a time.
