My Project

My students have been struggling in math this year, especially with number sense. They especially have a difficult time with recognizing and writing numbers, as well as counting objects using one-to-one correspondence.

These activities will help my students solidify their number sense skills in a fun and engaging way!

The penguin counting activity will help with one-to-one correspondence by having students put one penguin on each peg. The snap counting activity will work the same way, as students snap on one at a time. These kinds of activities force them to slow down when counting and focus on counting each object, instead of racing to just count quickly. Number flashcards and tactile cards will help my students practice both number recognition and number writing/formation.
