Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a counselor, one of my responsibilities is to provide students with a safe space. Students are struggling with multiple mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, loss, and trauma.

It can be extremely difficult for students to focus on their academics when they are internally struggling with their mental health.

The resources in this project will support students by providing them with the tools to express themselves in a healthy way. In addition, if we can assist students with the tools provided in this project, this will show the students that we care about them. It will be exciting to provide them with multiple pathways to share their emotions.

My students are special because they showcase extreme resilience. Some of the anecdotes that students have shared with me indicate how strong they are because they are able to open up about their experiences and grow from them in a positive way.
