My Project
I am super excited to be able to have a Counselor Connections Classroom this upcoming year. The students will be coming to me rather than me going to their classroom. We will have a space that will be for every student in our school. I will be providing classroom guidance lessons, individual counseling sessions, and small groups.
These items will help our classroom run smoothly, allowing me to meet the needs of all 320 of our students.
Some items will assist with lessons and classroom management, some with small groups, and some to help students with regulation.
We are a Title I school, and more than fifty percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Students and parents reach out to me for counseling needs as well as to have their basic needs met.
Many of our students deal with anxiety, have mental health issues, experience ADD, are on the autism spectrum, or have experienced some form of trauma in their young lives. Many are in need of self-regulation breaks.
If I am assisting a student, I may be late to a lesson or may not be able to make it at all. With my classroom, I am able to help all students meet their needs.
