Help me give my students counseling workbooks and technology to help process trauma from Hurricane Harvey, prevent suicide, bullying, and other mental illnesses from affecting their school day.

My students are resilient in every sense of the word: strong, pliable, forgiving, loving, and just wanting to be loved. For many of them, their only sense of calm and stability is at school.
Due to Hurricane Harvey, many of my High Risk students' problems were multiplied by their on-going problems at home; peace is being found through our on campus counseling program.
Our office services students who are finding their way and defining themselves in their freshman year; seniors getting ready to jump out the nest and be adults; and everyone in between.
Many of my students have been in counseling before, but want to get to a new level in their recovery. In order to do that we need new tools and techniques to stimulate and jump start them down the path to peace and prosperity. Our students are so intelligent, and tech savvy, we are hoping to bring engaging and state of the art equipment to the task. Many of our students are struggling with abuse, neglect, trauma, grief from loss, mental health issues, which presents itself as sadness, anger, and detachment from school. They are committed to learning a better way to live.
Our free, in school, Counseling program allows students in distress, and others who need ongoing support, access to therapy where time or income limitations would normally prohibit them from getting the help they need. The many workbooks and emotional exercises we are purchasing will assist the students with processing their emotions. Many students who utilize the counseling program at school have been traumatized by Hurricane Harvey and has impacted their family’s wellness and financial wellbeing. PTSD is rampant with these survivors (as well as survivors of suicide victims). The craft and scrapbooking items allows the students to recreate memories lost by making memory books and tributes to loved ones they lost, property and homes they miss (due to the storm, moving, deployment, etc.). We also utilize the craft items for making self esteem boards and dream boards to bolster future planning for those otherwise "unmotivated". Many students need assistance with their college planning, the laptop is a reasource for us to help them with online tools and resources.
Many have been traumatized, abused, bullied, molested, or ostracized, and have never had counseling before; our counseling center helps them get through a rough school day.
Counseling gives them a chance to discover and use their authentic voice and experience an attentive, nonjudgmental ear. Many students are artistic and process their emotions through arts and crafts. Wellness and meditation is being introduced to many who do not understand how to control their emotions through guided meditation and videos to be played on our new laptop. The materials you donate will allow students to process their trauma, sadness & anger, find coping skills to deal with anxiety, stress, bullying, relationships, self harming (cutting one’s skin, burning, etc), and ease suicidal thoughts with hands on activities and technology they understand and can relate to.
