This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books I'n requesting will continue to foster the culturally responsive, engaging environment that I strive to create every day. Almost all of my students are scoring below grade-level and it is my goal to help them raise their test scores through culturally responsive teaching. My students and I always partake in whole group reading, but unfortunately we don't have classroom sets of texts.
These grippling and authentic enaging texts have been chosen with my 7th grade scholars in mind.
I see them in these texts. The texts aid in teaching my 7th grade scholars how to "navigate the world of middle school and the troubled world beyond with wit and endless heart". I am counting down the days to share these text with them! Thank you.
