My Project
What hands on experiences did you have in high school? With a 3-D printer our students will be able to experience hands on, real life problem solving skills. Things they may not otherwise have the opportunity to do especially having been quarantined due to COVID-19. It will bring students together and allow them to work collaboratively again.
3-D printing allows students to think outside of the box and produce original designs that may one day enhance the way we interface with the world.
It is also a motivator for students to see their creations come to life, and, as a result, have a sense of accomplishment.
The 3-D printer will be an addition to our high school library maker space. Students will be given real-world projects that the school might use. Projects to create things that will make life easier. One such project may include coming up with a way to store computer batteries in a Computers On Wheels (COW) cart. Other projects may include creating a spout for paint cans, power cord organizers, and/or a tea bag holder/dispenser. Another opportunity will be to create art in a way they have never done before.
The sky is the limit with what a 3-D printer can do, and it is the creative minds of our students that will make it all come to life. With your financial help, students will have an opportunity to express their creativity and make the magic happen.
