Help me give my students new skills in costuming construction for our shows. We will have 6 productions this year at the junior high level, and students design the costumes and construct as much as we can.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a Performing and Visual Arts MS, and our students are talented in many ways. MPVA Theatre is very active, and we have different levels of acting classes, as well as Musical theatre and Technical theatre. We produce 6 shows this year (including the All School Musical), and need to construct many of the costumes, as well as do simple mending and repairs on costumes already in the costume closet. We currently have very little sewing basic supplies, much less any machines. This is a skill that I would love to pass on to my students, and they are very eager to learn as well! We are currently working on re-using and deconstructing old costumes and reconstructing into something totally fantastical and new! We will need to sew many of the costumes for our all-school musical, Beetlejuice Jr, which goes up at the end of February. We will also be reconstructing costumes for our spring plays Jungle Book and The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. Your assistance will go a long way into making our productions as stellar as our talent (both on and off stage)!
