Costa Rica International Trip

My students need help fundraising for a foreign exchange trip to Costa Rica for 7 days.

My Students

Do you recall your first adventure outside of these nation's borders? Ninety-seven percent of my students cannot reminisce the same. Everybody deserves a chance to see the majestic creation Mother Nature has laid at our doorstep.

At our High School ninety-five percent of my students are eligible for free or reduced price school lunch due to their family's low income.

Nearly one in ten students currently is homeless and almost one third of students are classified as having special education needs.

My Project

Many of my students have lived in Southeast DC their entire lives and have never stepped foot on the National Mall surrounding the capitol and monuments, let alone visit another country. Visiting Costa Rica will expose them to another culture and another way of life very different then their own.

My students are learning to be international thinkers, readers and speakers in my Spanish classroom.

It's so rewarding to teach students at our High School and I know this trip will benefit my students tremendously. Not only will they travel to another continent but also have the opportunity to practice what they have learned in their Spanish classroom.
