Help me give my students the opportunity to visualize and understand one of the most difficult concepts in molecular biology, protein synthesis, through the use of manipulatives.

My Project
In biology, my students spend a big part of the year learning genetics concepts, like classical genetics, population genetics, and molecular genetics. In order to understand the big picture, my students study DNA, RNA, and proteins structures, functions, and synthesis. Understanding protein synthesis has always been one of the most challenging topics due to the complex steps of the process. In the previous years, I have used paper models and videos to demonstrate cell structure, chromosome structure, protein synthesis, and other concepts.
The Protein Synthesis Manipulative Kit will help tremendously in visualizing and understanding the intricate steps of protein synthesis.
It will help correcting the many misconceptions that the students develop. Also, the manipulatives are color-coded, durable, instructive, and interactive that can be used by me, over and over, for demonstration and by my students for investigation. In addition, having a cell and chromosome models will facilitate in making connections between structures, locations, and processes.
