My Project

The plush toys are age-appropriate tools that will show a variety of facial expressions to help my students identify their emotions. The plush toys are not only warm and cozy tools to comfort my young students, but they can also be used as conversation starters in a small/whole group discussion. Books are read daily to help my students understand why characters feel specific emotions and why.

My project goal is to help my students identify and communicate their emotions.

I want to help my students build their confidence to identify how they are feeling in their native language. My goal is to provide my young learners with the tools/strategies to vocalize their feelings and not be ashamed of it. This project will help my students achieve a lifelong skill of emotional regulation.

Our classroom environment fosters a caring and supportive space that demonstrates respect for all students. Although my students are 3 1/2-4 years old, they have the willingness to learn about themselves and their peers. Instilling emotional accountability will help my students build empathy and grow into caring people.
