Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come into the Sports Medicine Classroom to learn about sports medicine and how to be an Athletic Trainer. They also get hands-on lessons in the field of Athletic Training. They are often asked to set up the field for practice, fix the water hoses, stock the medical kit for the game, or sweep the floor of the facility. They do all of these jobs and often ask "Anything else?"
I can give them lots of lessons in practical life and job skills because of the nature of my classroom, but we need a cordless drill to continue growing their skill set.
Recently we wanted to make some changes to shelves that would involve drilling holes and attaching screws to walls. However, we did not have a drill to make the changes needed.
Help me give them practical experience using tools that will improve their abilities in the future.
