This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a reading interventionist, all of the students I teach have significant reading delays. The majority of these students have some type of learning impairment that interferes with their ability to read on grade level. My class is also comprised of English language learners who either know a small amount of English or do not know any at all.
My Project
In my classroom, there are a lot of monitors and cords. I want to free up my very short HDMI cords from my laptop to my monitor and laptop to tv. As of right now, the students have to duck under the HDMI cords that are connected. I don't feel that this is the best way for them to learn as they are always worried about puling the cord or device down. The two Chromecasts will help with that and eliminate my HDMI cords. My room, in addition to being the reading interventionist pull out room, is also a reading resource room. This means that I have a LOT of curriculum. Currently, I have SIX filing cabinets in my room! However, there is STILL more curriculum that needs to be organized and put into other filing cabinets. Unfortunately, there are no other filing cabinets in the school available for me to use, so I am asking for two to organize the curriculum properly and de-clutter my room!
