Copy That!

My students need a classroom copier/printer and ink for copies of scenes and monologues to work on for our Theatre Arts class performances.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us learn our lines and save us time! With the recent cutbacks we can't copy scenes and monologues to perform in class. Each student is entitled to 2 1/2 copies per month for all of their assignments. Without a copier, students have to use valuable class time to hand write the scripts themselves

I teach at an under-served middle school in Southern California.

Most of my students are considered "at-risk" and all of them qualify for the free Federal lunch program. Students will tell me that they love their neighborhood and where they are from, despite the gangs, tagging, and violence that sometimes goes on there.

My Project

I am requesting this copier so that my students can have copies of the scenes and monologue scripts they need to work on in class. Because of the cutbacks in education, each teacher at our school has a limited amount of copies they can use per month. Because of the increased class sizes and the limited amount of elective courses offered, in my classroom this amounts to less than 3 copies per pupil. This includes graphic organizers, Thinking Maps, copies of scripts, and any other type of copy they may need. Having our own copier will not only allow us to make copies of scenes and monologues, but it will allow for our special needs students to have the extra resources they need to do their work. They can have a copy of a graphic organizer or Thinking Map to help them do their work, rather than taking the extra precious time that it takes them to have to make their own. There are so many ways that this copier could help the students in my classroom!

With this copier and extra toner cartridge my students will have the tools they need to be successful in my Theatre Arts classroom.

Without the ability to make copies of the scripts, graphic organizers, and Thinking Maps that we need, students spend their time copying it themselves rather than really working on the skills that will make them successful. Please help my students to do their very best and use their time in a meaningful way.
