This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school currently houses Pre-K through 8th Grade students in a very diverse and urban setting. These students often face many challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Our students only get one opportunity to begin their love of learning, and we want to make sure their love of learning starts here!
There are 150 students from high poverty homes attending our Title 1 School in an urban city.
Despite some challenges outside of school, these students still come to school everyday ready to learn.
My Project
I currently work in a school with 1,000 students and 60 teachers. Our building houses two copy machines that are outdated, constantly jamming, and always running out of ink. Having a personal printer and copy machine for my team to use would significantly reduce the daily stresses of having work readily available for our students.
This printer will be available to my students in order to provide differentiated instruction and engaging activities by giving them all work on their independent level.
Unfortunately, in this Title I school these students rely on our teachers to provide the work for them every day.
