My Students

We are innovative teachers who want to interest our students in new project ideas to help align our curriculum to the new Common Core. We want to engage our students with our new, creative ideas instead of using our same old textbooks!

Our students are eager to learn!

They are diverse eight, nine, and ten year old fourth graders from various backgrounds and abilities. Our school is a Title 1 public school in North Carolina. We have approximately 500 students with an almost 40% free & reduced lunch rate.

My Project

While aligning our curriculum to the new Common Core Curriculum, we are finding ourselves continually searching for new, additional resources. With continued, decreased funding to schools, obtaining new resources is challenging. We are finding ideas to help support students' learning, however, we are also finding the need for additional copying of resources. I am requesting a copy machine and toner to help us provide current resources to our students.

Our students want to have fun while they are learning!

Children connect to learning more easily if the ideas they are learning from are current. Learning from 10 year old textbooks is not current! We want our students to participate in Project Based Learning & innovative ideas. While implementing these ideas, additional copying is needed. One copy machine for a school of 500 students is just not enough. Please help us to help implement our new ideas!
