Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Kindergarten students are sitting on desks that are ancient. They are old, small, heavy and hard to move. It's been a challenge having my students work together in a group with these given desks.
My school is a small, Title I school where a lot of my students qualify for the reduced price or free lunch program.
Many students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Most are English language learners, speaking English as their second language. My Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students come to school eager to learn each day.
My Project
I would love to get activity tables for my students instead of desks so that my students can learn to work together. These clover shaped activity tables will sit 4 students together at a table, putting students in small cooperative groups. They will use these tables to play learning games in all subjects, do Science experiments, do activities during center time and more! My young students will have many opportunities to do problem solving activities to help them do some critical thinking. The possibilities are endless, and it excites me to post this project on behalf of my students.
This project will bring engagement, excitement and cooperative learning in my classroom.
These tables will last for many years, benefiting many future students for years to come. Thank you for your consideration and support!
