Cooperative Learning Environment

My Students

I teach at a Title I School, under the Hawai'i Department of Education on the island of Oahu. I have approximately 25 students. They are ELL and General Education students.

My students are fabulous, hard-working, and willing to learn.

They are open to learning and have a positive growth mindset. They persevere a lot, especially in the 4 core content areas. What I really like about them is they are open to fun learning. I can see that they are gearing towards college readiness.

My Project

Cooperative Learning activities result in better learning and retention. It enhances accuracy and creative problem solving, and better critical thinking for learners.

I am requesting movable easels and comfortable carpet to make each student learn through the required interpersonal and small group skills.

Students will have the opportunity to learn from each other. They will be placed into groups and are each assigned a different topic with the same general topic using the moveable easel and comfy carpet. I believe that students who are using cooperative learning tools can succeed in collaborating with others.
