Help me give my students opportunities to play games cooperatively with Friends and Neighbors, and build their fine motor skills with Big Bolt Construction
Thank you for your consideration in helping to fund my project! I am requesting the items to encourage cooperative play amongst my students, helping them to develop and practice critical social skills that will help them as they continue in their educational journey once they leave my classroom and move up into kindergarten. The Big Bolt Construction, Peaceable Kingdom games, and mini markers that I have requested encourage my students to use all of their senses to explore and learn as they work together with their peers to achieve their learning goals.
Cooperation, winning and losing together as a team, is one of the key skills I want the students in my special education classroom to learn and use when they play with their peers and encounter further learning experiences.
The items that I have requested, the various board games and tabletop activities, provide my students the opportunity to practice turn taking, cooperative play, cheering for and encouraging their peers. The students in my class, 4 and 5 year olds, are learning how to interact with other children as they play, how to interact with kindness, play together fairly, and prepare their social skills for their future educational journey. My students work hard every day to learn social skills and working together as a team to achieve a common goal.
My students can easily become overwhelmed, and these cooperative games can help them to work as a team and not against each other when working on taking turns.
