My Project
I teach a 4-6 self contained classroom. Whenever we have leftovers from school lunch, or milk that has not been opened yet, we store them in the fridge for later use and for possible use in food preparation activities. We also focus on life skills and food preparation is one of the main activities that we try and have our students begin. Having a fridge in the classroom helps make food prep activities possible. We used to have a fridge in class but the previous teacher owns it and is soon coming back to place it in her new classroom.
A fridge is something that our class will be benefitting from on a daily basis.
I would like for my students to increase participation in food prep activities, as well as make sure that well-preserved food, like packed lunches and fruits, and drinks are available to them.
I'm so lucky to have such a great group of students who are so eager to learn, and just happy to be in school. I want to provide to them the best possible equipment/materials that will support them in their learning goals.
