We are a wonderful group of elementary students! I push into inclusion classrooms which means we have a mix of general education students as well as students with special needs in a Title One school (high poverty). These students come in with a wide range of needs and abilities. Some of the students have been in a school setting before and come in ready to continue their education. Some students have never been in an education setting before. The one thing we all have in common is that everyone comes to school and wants to learn!
My Project
All of these materials are going to go to help meet the needs of my students with special needs. My students have been rocking this school year, even with all of the changes taking place; however, I would love to have a wide variety of tools to meet the broad range of needs for every single one of my learners!
I have seen firsthand how drastically fidgets can improve a child's ability to attend to tasks and maximize their learning.
In addition, the sensory objects will be used as I work with my co-teacher to teach self-regulation strategies and coping skills to my kindergarten and first grade students. It is so vital that we teach our students these skills early on, so they can build on them as they continue to grow into world changers!
