This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students struggle to manage their thoughts and emotions which hinders them from learning. My desire is to provide for them a place where they can cool down emotionally and reset mentally enabling them to stay in class and learn. The carpet, pillow and stuffed animal are essential sensory items. Students will have the opportunity to grow and nurture self love and increase confidence by allowing students to speak self chosen affirmations while looking in the mirror. Some like to write there feelings out and they are able to do so and when complete they can shred there private thoughts. I believe laughter is the best medicine which is why I want to provide an opportunity for genuine laughter through the chosen literature. All of these things and more are going to have a endless positive impact on my students.
