This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are from low economic backgrounds, and many have emotional and behavior struggles. I want to provide them with a safe area in the classroom where they can go to calm down and think about their emotions.

A Cool Down Corner with plush toys and fidgets is a safe space for students to calm down and reflect on their emotions.

My goal is to have this area so students can stay in the classroom while processing their feelings. That way they will not miss learning time by leaving the classroom to calm down. Please help my students calm down in a safe space.
