My students need cubbies to organize and store their classroom materials.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Mathias's classroom raised $585

My Students
I am currently teaching second grade at a Title I Primary School in a small South Carolina town. My students come from various ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds. Some of them are considered at-risk students because they are below grade level in reading or math. They are some of the sweetest 8 and 9 year olds you can ever teach, and all work hard!
No matter where my students come from, my classroom is home to them.
I encourage them to love each other as brothers and sisters and to feel safe with one another. Making our classroom a home ensures a enjoyable school year!
My Project
This year my students have gotten the experience of a flexible seating classroom. The seating has been a wonderful addition to the learning environment. However, the room is becoming chaos because students' materials have no home without a traditional desk.
To avoid my classroom turning into a disaster area, the students are in need of cubbies.
My district does not supply each classroom with cubbies. I never really had a need for cubbies until I started using the flexible seating. Without a traditional desk, studnets; books and notebooks are in bins by their seats. The bins get knocked over frequently which either makes a mess or causes a distraction cleaning it up.
Giving each student an assigned cubby would allow their materials to have a "home." This would not only keep the room cleaner, but it would also help students stay more organized.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
