Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our class is culturally and economically diverse with many students identified needing special education services or weaknesses in reading. Our students need non-traditional support and a flexible learning environment to help them be successful in the classroom.
Our students have so many challenges OUTSIDE of school want to learn and achieve their goals through hard work in our classroom.
Having unique classroom experiences will foster students that want to come to school and learn. Due to economic factors, our students may not have special things in their life. Having an inviting learning environment would mean to the world to our students.
My Project
Our class doesn't spend a lot of time sitting at our desks!! We spend most of our day in collaborative groups, working in table groups or finding spots on the floor to work on projects.
Having comfortable and unique places to work, helps students focus on their learning.
During our collaborative projects, students have options of where to sit. We have Friday Flashlight Readings where students bring flashlights and we make a unique, camping-like, silent reading experience and the kneeling pads would make it more comfortable for the students. The mini desks will give students a special seating option for collaborative or individual work experiences.
