My students come from a diverse background, spanning many different cultures, languages and social and economic conditions. Even though my students come from a variety of different backgrounds, they all share the same desire to learn.
My classroom is full of amazing, bright, inquisitive learners, who are passionate about life and love to help each other experience learning.
My goal is to find a way to engage all of my students where they are, and help them to achieve more than they thought possible. Many come to school without even the most basic of needs being met. However, they are happy, energetic, enthusiastic, caring and curious. Even though my students come from a variety of different backgrounds, they all share the same desire to learn.
My Project
Using Dash Robots in the classroom is an effective way to meet the needs of a diverse group of students. Students will learn the fundamental techniques of coding in a non-threatening environment. They will be part of an encouraging and challenging community where kids can share ideas and build confidence.
Technology engages students that don't always learn in the traditional classroom setting.
By having Dash robots accessible to all, my students will be exposed to the latest technology, even if they do not have much at home. By using a hands-on approach to coding, I will be able to offer my students another way to demonstrate their understanding of the Common Core Standards and be able to understand how technology can help them overcome their disabilities and learning differences.
