My Students

My students are such a good example of how working together and building a classroom community can make a school year fly by! Despite multiple staff changes, my students have learned so much and have become such caring and hard working little learners. Most of my students come from the same apartment complex for low-income families, and they spend a lot of time together in and out of school. They really enjoy anything that is creative such as art and music. They often come from great, hardworking families who just don't have the resources to meet basic needs.

My Project

My students love the sand and water table! I love it because it keeps them engaged and has a really great calming affect. This is one of the most popular areas and I am always trying to be creative in the supplies we put into it. We need some more materials to make their play educational as well as fun. The fishing game would bring in the educational piece as letter recognition is such an important Kindergarten readiness skill. The whisks and pumps would help introduce more conversations and vocabulary and the color changing tablets would bring in the fun!
