Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have an inner-city class that rotates between two teachers. The students often come to us from poverty, homelessness, and other countries as refugees. They have very little in terms of supplies and even less experience with technology.
I want to prepare my students for the 21st century, and it is heavily reliant on technology.
My students want to succeed, but they need help. They need someone to invest in their future and give them the tools they need to compete with students in their generation who have these tools readily available.
My Project
The materials in this project are to spruce up the very empty, bare, and sad walls that the children will stare at for an entire year. Alone, I can not give the students the classroom they deserve. I want to give them a calming classroom that they feel safe and secure to work in.
This project includes many bulletin board items that encourage social emotional learning and positive mind set.
Give the students the tool they need to anchor down their understanding with calm and effective bulletin boards. Bulletin boards are key to help kids reference material easily when they are remembering how to use their strategies.
