Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having students help each other during difficult times is important in helping students achieve success in school and in their personal lives. Giving them that space to share will also strengthen their mental health and interpersonal skills.
Students will be able to use the stools and snacks during restorative and calming circle time, which occurs once a week.
A lead student will begin the circle with a prompt of the day to get students talking in a comfortable and safe space. After students share the answers to the prompt, they will then be encouraged to share out their grows and glows from the past week.
After restorative and calming circle time, students will be allowed to get snacks from the snack closet to encourage them to continue discussions begun during the circle time.
