Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 4-and 5-year-old that come from low-income families or have just arrived from their home countries. They are not used to learn by doing. I would like to use cooking as part of our learning.
We will use the electric griddle and electric sauce pan to cook different food items based on themes or letter food such as pancakes, eggs, grill cheese.
The knives and cutting boards can be used to practice cutting vegetables to make a salad. Mixing bowls and measuring cups allows us to bring math into the activity. The aprons we will use to keep our clothes clean.
