Help me give my students a new set of stainless pots, a 6.6 Cast Iron Quart Dutch Oven a Cast Iron Seasoning Oil & Conditioner and OXO Good Grips Cast Iron brush.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from low income families which makes our school a Title One School. Our school community is made up of a diverse population which include immigrant students with English as their second language and students with various learning disabilities.
Despite my students daily routine challenges of coming to school and going from school, my students are highly motivated and enthusiastic to learn new concepts that include hands-on activities.
As a science teacher, I engage my students in meaningful learning that students can apply to their daily lives and help them to become lifelong learners in society. This school year our third grade through fifth are learning how to cook healthy meals and practice healthy eating habits which can also be shared with their families at home.
My Project
All students deserve the opportunity to have access to great healthy food and understand how the food is prepared. Our students who come from low income homes do not always have that access to the best healthy meals. My students are learning how to prepare easy and healthy cultural meals at a low cost of funds.
The Cuisinart Pro Stainless Steel 12 PC Cookware set and the Cast Iron Dutch Oven will make a tremendous difference in my students' learning as they are thought how to prepare various healthy meals during their cooking club sessions
My students are also learning about the diversity of cultural foods since our school's population is a diverse population. This helps to foster conversation among our students and help them understand each other cultures while practicing healthy eating habits.
