Cooking Up Leadership

Help me give my students a slow cooker, deep freezer, griddle, cooler, and accessories to support interactive DECA club meetings.

My Project

DECA students are passionate, motivated, and future-focused. They are learning to lead through teamwork, business planning, and real-world experiences. DECA provides them with incredible opportunities to develop skills in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management—and our club meetings are where those ideas turn into action.

These students thrive in creative, hands-on environments.

When given the tools and trust to lead, they rise to every challenge with enthusiasm and innovation.

We’re requesting a slow cooker, deep freezer, electric griddle, cooler, and essential cooking accessories so our DECA club can take our meetings and projects to the next level.

These tools will allow students to:

Prepare and serve food at DECA meetings to build engagement and community.

Create real-life business plans based on food products for events and fundraisers.

Practice marketing, branding, budgeting, and customer service.

Run pop-up sales or promotional campaigns to raise funds for competition travel and materials.

With the cooler, students can safely store ingredients and drinks for events, ensuring safe food handling and transport.

This project empowers students to connect what they learn in the classroom to real-world business and marketing experiences. It gives them the confidence to take initiative, lead teams, and manage events with creativity and professionalism.
