My students need a large kitchen set to facilitate developmentally appropriate play and develop their social and emotional skills in ways they may not have the opportunity to at home.
My students come from diverse cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds and in our classroom we celebrate our differences and work together to achieve our best.
In my class, we build a community where all students are challenged, engaged, and most of all loved!
We love to learn through play and utilize our natural curiosity to teach us about the world. Our school has a large population of English learners and families who receive free breakfast and free/reduced lunch, including students from local shelters. My students come to my classroom, all at various ability levels, excited and ready to learn.
My Project
The classroom kitchen set will be used by all of my students to promote their social and emotional skills in a developmentally appropriate setting. My students love dramatic play and so many of my students miss out on this important time at home due to not having fun and engaging resources available to them. The various kitchen accessories, like the food and cookware/appliances, will enhance the kitchen area ensuring that students have various materials to choose from and can use their imagination to it's fullest extent! The laundry set will allow students to practice working as a community and developing social skills they will need as they grow up.
Dramatic play is an essential part of early childhood development and serious learning goes on in our class kitchen!
The products I selected will be used specifically for dramatic play and encouraging students to explore and interact with their environment in a healthy way. My students will benefit from having a colorful community where they can play, learn and grow together.
