My Project

I work with the special ed community in a middle school setting. They are middle school special ed students with mild/ mod and mod/ severe disabilities. My students work so hard academically and providing a functional skill that will help them become independent adults is a subject I feel very passionate about. I have all materials ( toaster oven, electric skilled, pots and pans, cooking utensils, ) but do not have an airfryer, and could always use more utensils, paper plates, paper cups. We do not have access to an oven in our room or on campus. The cost of the food is coming out of my pocket and I badly need grocery gift cards so I can purchase the items I need to cook with my students and help them be more independent. This is a class they really look forward to. We watch videos how to make the simple cooking lessons the day before and write down the recipe so they can refer to it as we are cooking. This skill is really important and gives them the opportunity to make a check list of the items they need prior to cooking and directions they can follow that are simplistic.

Any donations would be greatly appreciate to keep my program running.

The biggest donation we need would be grocery store gift cards so we can go shopping to get the items we need each week to cook.
