My Project
My high school special needs students love to learn skills needed for independence. The cooking and baking supplies in this project will allow us to increase our classroom ability to expand student skills in this area. Cutting bell peppers with a butter knife is not the easiest endeavor, but my students rose to the challenge. Help me provide kid-safe knives and other equipment.
Cooking is a necessary life skill my students need more practice with in a safe, contained space with the proper tools.
When students can complete activities independently, their self-esteem increases, which then provides the confidence to pursue new skills.
