Cookbooks and More to Encourage Reading and Doing!
Help me give my students 20 new library books about cooking and food to encourage the love of reading, researching, and cooking!

My Project
Many of our students love nonfiction science books, but our 600s or Applied Sciences Section of our library is about seven years older than recommended. Students are always requesting more cookbooks and books about food. Research shows that the more people read what they choose to read, the better they do in so many areas of life. My students will love having more cookbooks and food related books to allow them to learn more about some of their favorite subjects and to implement some of the recipes at home. Students will be thrilled to check out these books.
Students are always searching for cookbooks and food related library books and then asking me if we have any other books on these topics because they want more!
With this project, we will be able to start updating our 600s or Applied Sciences section to meet the reading interests and needs of our students who want more cookbooks. I can't wait to see how thrilled my students will be by these science books that will encourage students from all levels to read and work on their cooking and baking skills with their families!
