Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic and curious about everything. All of our students live close-by and walk to school each day. A good deal of my students have parents who are immigrants and/or don't speak English. My students need as much support in school as possible in order to help them to reach their potential.
The students in my class are excited to learn new things and love using technology to challenge themselves.
I hope to be able to foster this love of learning and encourage them to keep pushing themselves to reach their goals.
My Project
As first graders, my students do a lot of hands on learning. One thing we use on a daily basis is glue. Not all of my students are able to afford the necessary supplies such as glue or pencils.
I would love to help them out in giving them those materials so they don’t have to sacrifice the hands-on piece of their learning.
In addition to glue and pencils, it would be really beneficial for each student to have a bin to store these materials, as well as books and notebooks that they will be using. This would be a huge help in keeping each student’s materials safe and allowing them to last longer.
