My Students

When we shutdown, many of my students didn't have access to the curriculum if it wasn't on paper. We are not a 1 to 1 technology school. So many kids without internet have to use their parents' cell phones for getting online. Although the school did handout what limited resources we did have, many kids have to share these with their siblings. Still some students are having difficulty getting internet hotspots. I would like to make sure there is no learning loss for my awesome students during this time. The pandemic shouldn't be an excuse why they can't access the curriculum.

My Project

This is the second project I am posting on behalf of my students that need technology so the digital divide does not create a larger gap in their learning. I am repeating my original plea, because the situation hasn't change. Social and emotional aspects of learning are lost when not in classroom with your peers. To help provide my students time to be social, we meet everyday via zoom. It is a time where they can see and greet each other, as well as, a time to receive first hand instruction from me.

Imagine missing out on the social aspect of learning.

It is really devastating to me that some of my students are missing their friends. Having the additional chromebooks will ensure not only will all my students have access to the curriculum, but to their friends too.
