Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Daily, during lunch or brunch, my classroom is full of kiddos. Students, some of which I do not know, come searching for a comfortable place to sit or relax. They come to my classroom because of all my flexible, alternative seating appeals to them as they search for a place to decompress. Research shows that flexible seating leads to better physical health. Allowing more opportunities for students to meet their sensory needs is a win for everyone!
Encouraging movement and comfort in my classroom so that each student can find their best learning style is always my goal.
These pillows will ensure a larger cozy comfortable space in our classroom for more students. We have two corners dedicated to comfort and relaxation. I have a table in between these two sections. I’ve decided to remove the table, allowing for the entire wall to be a comfortable space. So no more corner(s), rather now it will be a wall. I often do not have enough space for all the students who would like to use the space so we’re expanding it.
