My Students

Our school is located in a suburban area, where there is a large range of economical status. It is a small town, and many families that live in our area have lived here for many generations.

We are a Title I school, and have many students who qualify for intervention help.

As teachers, we are striving to help all students gain success and achieve their goals. We're always looking for great ideas and I feel this is one of them!

My Project

Because of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, our school is closed for the remainder of the year. That means that my fifth graders don't get to experience things like their final Field Day, our class field trip to Greenfield Village, thieir Fifth Grade Promotion ceremony, or even their final symbolic walk on their last day of elementary school.

I'd love to at least give them the experience of reading our final novel together, which is one of my favorites to read aloud.

I am not able to send them a copy from the school, but I would love to purchase each student a copy of their own so they can follow along through my read aloud electronically, and I can mail it to them with a personal note from me. With your help, I'm hoping to keep some degree of "normal" for them in this uncertain time.
