My students need materials to make new games, like a laminator, laminating materials, dice, and a classroom timer. The items in this project will help me make new games for my students!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In our classroom we are super heroes! I selected this theme because I honestly believe that learning will give you super powers in life. In our classroom, we dance, play games, and jam to music. All of these activities increase our super power!
Our students come from all over the world, over 30 countries and speak nearly as many languages.
In the spring of 2000, results of state testing showed that our students were performing at very low levels. In the spring of 2001, school staff, in cooperation with district and union leaders, undertook a three-year program to internally restructure the school. In 2011-2012 school year, 70% of the students received English Language Learner support and over 90% of the students received free or reduced-price meals. Now, our students are performing well and are meeting the state's requirements yearly. While the students are doing well, teachers still have to pay for many things we use in our classroom because of the population that we serve.
My Project
The items I am requesting are a rug for our block area, laminating materials, dice (number cubes), and other materials to help make new games for the classroom. I make a lot of games in my classroom and sometimes the resources to make these games are expensive. The materials requested will be used for multiple school years. With the materials requested, I will be able to make games for all subject areas, while creating a fun and welcoming environment for my class.
The materials that I am asking for will assist me in making games and activities, which will provide my students with the hands on experiences they need and deserve.
By donating, you are assisting me in building a solid foundation for their educational career. Thank you so much for your support!
