My Students

I currently am a K-5 technology coordinator who has created a Makerspace at our school that incorporates hands-on learning and technology integration in the physical and virtual world. By providing new learning opportunities during the recess and after-school times, I integrate new technologies.

Formally a third grade bilingual teacher, I realized how essential technology is to inspiring students but also providing new learning opportunities.

Now as a K-5 technology coordinator and math resource teacher, I have developed a Design Lab at our school that incorporates new technologies and games so that students can learn and help educators see how to incorporate new technologies like robotics and game based learning into the regular curriculum.

My Project

I am constantly trying to learn new technologies which is why the Constructing Modern Knowledge Institute would be a valuable learning opportunity for me. I have been working with 3D printing, soft circuits, and robotics but I would like the opportunity to collaborate with other educators around the country to create connections and be inspired to try new learning in my school. Learning is a social activity and Constructing Modern Knowledge offers numerous opportunities to learn inside and outside of the classroom. In addition to socializing with your fellow attendees and faculty over meals or informal chats, exciting social events are being held at this year’s event.

I have never been able to afford to attend this professional development opportunity.

I would very much like to participate in this institute because it will give provide me with a learning experience and connections that I cannot find around me.
