We use the laminating pouches to make the anchor charts and learning materials more durable for students to use and have available when they use them to support their learning.\r\n Our class loves to do \"arts and crafts.\" The students are super excited to be able to use the river rocks to make their own pet rock! They also enjoy designing the bookmarks that were part of this project. Any chance to do some creating is exciting for our class.\r\n Thank you for the snacks that give us a boost during the day and for the books that are read over and over again for enjoyment.\r\n Without Donors Choose, we would not be able to do many of the things we are able to in order to help our learning and have fun while doing it!! The cart has been helpful for transporting student lunches back and forth to the lunchroom. The whiteboard clipboards and markers have been very useful for math and word work activities. Students have been able to keep track of unfinished activities on the clipboards as well. Having the desk organizers, pencil organizers, and labels has helped my students learn the importance of organization. It has allowed my scholars to use their time in our classroom in the most effective way for learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were so excited! We use staples to post student work, anchor charts, and other charts that provide visual resources for students to use as they learn. Our students use their personal white board almost every day for activities in math, spelling, and more. Students prefer a clean white board to use. So having white board cleaner is necessary! The 3-ring binders help us stay organized with our writing, math charts and resources, as well as handouts that students can refer back to as needed when applying the skills they are learning. \r\n\r\nThe \"stuff for fun\" materials, such as markers, stickers, games, and books have brought many smiles to our classroom. Our students LOVE to color and draw with fun markers and different paper. They enjoy doing arts and crafts, and often will choose to create things whenever they earn \"free choice\" time or have indoor recess. We use stickers to recognize work completion and success. After students complete an assignment or other task, they are able to select stickers to put on their work which they like to do. We haven't had much time to play games in our classroom yet this year, but having games available for students to learn promotes cooperative game play and working with others. \r\n\r\nKids love books, especially ones that are part of a favorite series or one that everyone seems to be reading. I often read the \"BAT\" books by Elana K. Arnold as a read aloud. This project gave us multiple copies of the books in the series so students can read or reread the books following the read aloud. \r\n\r\nThank you donors! A large number of students in our class this year really enjoy reading non-fiction, especially about plants and animals. They would read these books often and have to come and share the most recent facts or interesting information they had read about with me and others in our class. A few of the students decided they even wanted to take notes on the topics they chose to read about and put the notes into a journal to keep. \r\n\r\nThis project was initially created to help support our students with one of our literacy units. The focus of the unit is how plants and animals help humans, our environment, and each other. The end of the unit project involves students choosing one plant and one animal and creating a slide show or other form of media to share how the plant and animal benefit the other.
