Creating a LEGO Wall will make a significant difference in several ways. Students will be provided with hands-on learning to engage in STEAM concepts. They will be able to directly manipulate the materials to enhance their understanding of abstract concepts. A LEGO Wall will support creativity and problem-solving by encouraging students to experiment with different designs and testing ideas while solving issues throughout the process. Collaboration and communication will be developed while students are working together to plan, design, and build their creations. LEGO Walls are inclusive and accessible to students of all abilities so they can explore and learn at their own pace. While students are utilizing the Lego Wall, they will be discovering lessons connected to engineering, physics, mathematics, and art.
My goals for utilizing a LEGO Wall with elementary students are to promote creativity, enhance problem-solving skills, support STEAM learning, develop fine-motor skills, foster collaboration and communication, and cultivate persistence and resilience.
All of these will be supported through a positive, engaging, learning environment.
My students thrive on being challenged in a variety of educational activities. Their innate curiosity make them eager to explore, ask questions, and seek understanding. They are incredibly imaginative and creative, always thinking outside the box to come up with innovative ideas to solve problems. They have immense potential for growth and learning. My students represent the promise of the future: holding the potential to become compassionate leaders, innovative thinkers, and positive contributors to society.
