This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

After the height of the pandemic, I was seriously concerned about the reduction in student ability I witnessed in my classrooms. So I decided to focus on metacognition, self-awareness, and community this year. So far, it has proven to be a great decision. With an increased focus on student-led activities and team building, students are working together and showing academic growth in reading Lexile and stamina, which helps prepare them for standardized testing.

Students are producing some fantastic collaborative work that illustrates what they comprehend in the literature we are reading.

Our classroom could use the supplies requested so all students can work instead of waiting for a tiny box of markers to be passed around.
