This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Try to re-live your 6th-grade year..... together let's make this 6th grade's even better!
My students are a group of amazing kids, where 90% of the population are English Language Learners.
The students are very eager and determined to learn. Dat after day they come in with a great attitude and more motivated than the day before.
They are very technology savvy, they are open, funny and caring. They love to share their ideas with one another. Every day we are together, is a new experience in the classroom.
My Project
Remember that one book that you could not stop reading?
At times it can become difficult for my students to enjoy reading because of the books available to them, the topics we have in our classroom library or sometimes just because of their level of frustration.
I would like my 6th-grade students to be able to bring back that love for reading or even experience it for the first time. I want to make reading for them a memorable experience where they will not only be able to read, but also write about what they are reading in a fun, creative way. With this book "Tiger Boy" we would learn about endangered animals around the world and write a Feature Article about ways we can help support those animals in danger.
Students will become passionate about their reading and writing.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
