Connecting With Coding

My students need an educational robot and Makey, Makey kit that will give them instant, hands-on feedback of their coding skills.

My Students

At our middle school, my students have a range of backgrounds and experiences, but yet they come together to achieve their goals. Through teambuilding and inquiry based learning my students are well prepared for the future and acquire 21st century skills. They learn to communicate and collaborate effectively, while giving feedback and being active listeners. We use a variety of technology tools along with interactive notebooks to discovery and retain information. We are Ravens and "We Fly Higher Than the Rest!"

My Project

My students will be expected to know a new universal language as they enter the work force and that language is coding. Coding is a language and a thought process that is a needed skill for all 21st Century learners. With the use of robots and a Makey, Makey kit, students can see how coding can transform their lives and give them a glimpse of a future career. By giving my students the freedom to experiment with these coding tools, a spark of imagination leads to students learning from their own mistakes and training to become problem solvers and life long learners.
