Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach fifth graders at a Title I elementary school in Alabama. My school educates approximately 500 students. One hundred percent of the students receive free lunch. I work very hard to deliver engaging activities to my students in a safe and loving learning environment.

My students get very excited about using technology to create engaging, interactive activities.

It is important that I provide them with many different learning opportunities that encourage them to be life-long learners. My students love being responsible in the classroom!

My Project

The technology that I am requesting is so important for my students. These Chromebooks are desperately needed right now, but will also be used in the future. Due to Covid-19, my students and I have been forced to connect remotely.

With these new Chromebooks, I will be able to see the faces of my students and they will also have the opportunity to connect with their classmates to view interactive activities, while I provide instruction remotely.

I am doing the best that I can to stay in contact and provide engaging, exciting instruction to keep their minds occupied, but not all of my students have devices. These devices will provide access to lessons, activities, and enrichment and will also help our class to stay connected!
